The 7 Essentials For Starting A Blog

Getting ready to launch your blog or revamp a current one? How exciting! Aside from choosing your platform of choice to host your blog  & domain name, there are quite a few other must-haves to have prepared before your launch. I know firsthand how overwhelming it can be trying to make sure you have all your ducks in a row before you broadcast your very first post. Launching a blog doesn't have to be scary and you don't need to go it alone. Read through my quick tips below to get the scoop on the essentials you need before your next launch!

This may seem like a duh moment, but trust that you'll want to have at least 5-10 posts at your arsenal ready for your launch. The more posts you can plan ahead, the easier it will be to stay on top of consistently putting out content.

The quality of the photos you choose can make or break the presentation of your blog. Research how to best use your phone for good quality and cohesive editing, or invest in stock photos or a photographer.

This should not be treated as an after thought. Your readers want to know more about the person behind your blog. Keep it short, sweet, and authentically you. (See 3 Ways To Master Your About Page for more inspo)

Make it easy for your readers & potential sponsors to get in touch with you by implementing a contact form and/or your email for blog-related inquiries. Then rejoice at the fact that this will be the easiest part of your blog to create!

You put a lot of time and effort into your content, so monetizing the work you put into your blog will make it that much more rewarding. Research affiliate programs that will resonate with your audience (i.e. ShopStyle, rewardstyle, or Amazon Affiliates) to get the ball rolling.
